The Creative Journey and Payment

At Fairylight Engravings, every custom design is created with the highest attention to detail and client satisfaction. Our completion time, or as we like to call it, our "Creative Journey," is significantly influenced by the specifics of your project and the level of detail you provide.

The journey begins with an initial consultation where we gather as much information as possible about your vision. During this phase, the more ideas and clarity you provide, the easier and quicker it is for us to conceptualize and develop your design. Whether it's sketches, photos, or descriptions, any input you can give us will help streamline the design process. If you have specific examples of what you’re looking for, this can significantly shorten the time needed to create your custom piece.

Once we have a good understanding of your vision, we proceed to the design development phase. Here, we create and offer various design samples for your review. This iterative process ensures that we refine the designs according to your feedback until you find the perfect one. This stage can take anywhere from a single day to a few weeks, depending on how clear your initial vision is and how many revisions are needed. We pride ourselves on our ability to quickly adapt and provide multiple samples, especially when you have a well-defined idea or example to guide us.

After finalizing the design, we move to the production planning phase. This involves detailed evaluations to estimate the total laser engraving time and determine the overall cost. The laser engraving process can vary significantly based on the complexity and size of the design. Once we have a precise understanding of the engraving time, we will contact you to discuss any potential budget concerns. If the projected costs exceed your budget, we will work with you to find solutions, such as adjusting the design, selecting more affordable materials, or modifying the engraving process to reduce time while maintaining quality.

When we reach an agreement on the design and budget, we require full payment upfront. This ensures that we can proceed without any delays. We accept various payment methods, including cash, check, and card. If you are planning your event well in advance, we can schedule the payment for a few weeks or months later. However, please be aware that we will not begin ordering materials or starting the engraving process until we receive the final payment.

After the payment is settled, we will order the necessary materials as discussed. It's important to note that if there has been an increase in the cost of materials since our initial discussion, you will not be required to cover any additional expenses. The arrival of materials can take from a few days to several weeks, depending on their availability and our suppliers' schedules. We will keep you informed about these timelines so you know precisely when to expect your order to start taking shape.

Once all materials have arrived, we will begin the laser engraving process, commonly referred to as the "printing process." This phase involves translating the final design into a tangible product using our advanced laser engravers. We will have already discussed the details of this process during the sample and pricing phase, so you'll be well aware of what to expect. The duration of this phase heavily depends on the quantity and complexity of your order. For instance, if your project requires 86 hours of laser time, it might traditionally take over two weeks. However, with optimized scheduling and full laser days, we can complete such a project in about eight days, barring any unforeseen circumstances.

After the laser engraving is complete, the final stage involves adding those all-important finishing touches. This includes processes such as sanding, staining, assembling, and packaging. Each piece is meticulously inspected to ensure it meets our high standards and matches your expectations.

Once your order is complete and has passed our quality assurance checks, it will either be delivered to an agreed-upon location within our drop-off range or shipped directly to your address. We aim to make this final step as seamless as possible, ensuring your custom creations arrive in perfect condition, ready for your event or personal use.
